USM Japan Festival Starts!!! =D



So it begins! Our inaugural USM Japan Festival begins. From now until Thursday, we will have exhibitions and games on at DTSP foyer. Play our booth games and win our prizes available. Better yet, show people who's the boss by scoring the most points obtained from the game booths and have your name at the top of the leaderboard! Moreover, every game ticket you complete will let you be in the running for a grand prize of a hamper worth RM 150!!! Want to know more? Visit us at DTSP foyer now!!

The Countdown Begins...


It's finally up! Our special booth is now operational at DK foyer of USM (in front of Kafe Siswa). Come get your Japan Festival and Anime Night tickets at our booth, as well as enjoy some of the little display of Japanese cultural items. And for those who are entering the Anime Drawing Competition, you can submit your masterpieces at our booth too! Come, come, come~~~ we will be waiting for you there. Booths are operational from 9.00am until 4.00pm daily so check us out yeah ;)

Directions, Directions, Directions


Hello everyone! Are you all doing fine? In this post, we'll be sharing the directions on how to get to our event and also where to purchase tickets. From November 11 until 15, we will be setting up a booth to sell our tickets. It will be at DK G, as shown in the map above. And of course, from the 18th until 21st November we will have our exhibitions at DTSP foyer and our Festival Night at Dewan Budaya on the 22nd November. Just follow the simple map as above and you will not be lost. =D

Dead or Watch?


During the entire weeknights (except Friday, 22nd November) of the Japan Festival, we will be screening some of the hottest animes that have graced our world. One Piece, Detective Conan, Naruto and Fairy Tail, which will you watch? ;)

The Male and Female Models of Festival Night Revealed!


For our Festival Night, we will have a yukata fashion show, featuring USM students. After undergoing preliminary rounds, we present you the guy models!!! Their names are (not in following order):

So You Think You Can Draw? Hehe~~


Hello minna-san!!! Here's another great update to you for the Japan Festival. Do you have some inner artist hidden in yourselves? Are you able to hand draw out anime characters and bring them to life on a paper? Then, this contest is especially for you!
Open only to USM Minden campus students only (to others, so sorry yeah D= ), here's your avenue to shine and let people notice your artistic talents! Draw out characters from any of your favourite anime and submit them to us at the pre-Japan Festival booths at DK Foyer from 10am to 4pm on 11th November until 15th November 2013. Following that we will have a voting session through Facebook and community of USM JLS Japan Festival Division. Attractive prizes worth up to RM300 are waiting for the winners.

To help you all more, here's the rules and regulations:

• This contest is open to all USM main campus students excluding the committees of the USM JLS Japan Festival Division.
• The drawings submitted are preferred to be the original work of the individual.
• Drawings must be submitted in hard copy on a piece of drawing sheet of 420mm x 297mm (16.55 x 11.69 inches)
• Participants are free to choose their painting materials.
• Drawings must be drawn by hand.
• One entry per person.
• All entries must be summited before 15th November 2013 4.00PM.
• Winners will be selected by the panel from the community of USM JLS Japan Festival Division (50%) and based on the number of ‘Likes’ on FACEBOOK (50%).
• Decisions of the contest judges are final and binding.
• All drawings submitted will become the property of the USM JLS Japan Festival Division.
• Contest winners will be notified on 21nd November 2013. The winners must attend the festival night on 22nd November 2013 to receive the prizes.
• MyCSD will be given to the participants.
• Participants of the contest are to agree on the Contest Rules and Regulations.
• Community of USM JLS Japan Festival Division has the rights to alter the Contest Rules and Regulations.


We Need:
• Your drawing with the title of your drawing, title of the anime, name(s) of the character(s) that you drew and your personal information written on the back of the drawing sheet.
• Personal information includes your name and IC number, your phone number, the name of your school, year of study, and the name of your hostel.
Judging Criteria
1. Relevancy to the theme, ‘Love or Friendship related to Sakura’.
2. Creativity, drawing and painting skills.


How to Submit?
• Deliver in person to in Japan Festival pre-booth of DK Foyer, from 10am to 4pm on 11th November until 15th November 2013.
